Secretary of the Navy Ray Mabus and Chief of Naval Operations Adm. Jonathan W. Greenert announced today the following assignments:
Rear Adm. Victorino G. Mercado will be assigned as director, assessment division, N81, Office of the Chief of Naval Operations, Washington, District of Columbia. Mercado is currently serving as commander, Carrier Strike Group Eight, Norfolk, Virginia.
Rear Adm. (lower half) Michael J. Dumont will be assigned as deputy director for politico-military affairs (Africa), J5, Joint Staff, Washington, District of Columbia. Dumont is currently serving as deputy director for strategic initiatives, J5, Joint Staff, Washington, District of Columbia.
