Flag Officer Assignments

The Secretary of the Navy Ray Mabus and Chief of Naval Operations Adm. John M. Richardson announced today the following assignments:

Rear Adm. Sean R. Filipowski will be assigned as deputy director, Signal Intelligence Directorate, National Security Agency, Fort Meade, Maryland. Filipowski is currently serving as senior military advisor for cyber, Under Secretary of Defense for Policy, Washington, District of Columbia.

Rear Adm. (lower half) Lisa M. Franchetti, selected for promotion to rear admiral, will be assigned as chief of staff, J5, Joint Staff, Washington, District of Columbia. Franchetti is currently serving as commander, Carrier Strike Group Nine with additional duty as commander, Carrier Strike Group Fifteen, San Diego, California.

Rear Adm. (lower half) Robert D. Sharp, selected for promotion to rear admiral, will be assigned as director, National Maritime Intelligence Integration Office; and commander, Office of Naval Intelligence, Washington, District of Columbia. Sharp is currently serving as special assistant to commander, Office of Naval Intelligence, Washington, District of Columbia.

Rear Adm. (lower half) James S. Bynum will be assigned as commander, Carrier Strike Group Nine, San Diego, California. Bynum is currently serving as deputy director, White House Military Office, Washington, District of Columbia.

Rear Adm. (lower half) Michelle C. Skubic will be assigned as commander, Defense Logistics Agency, Land and Maritime, Columbus, Ohio. Skubic is currently serving as director, logistics, fleet supply and ordnance, N4, U.S. Pacific Fleet, Pearl Harbor, Hawaii.
